He initially worked in print producing event graphics for the Leadmill in Sheffield. Jonathan joined Mainartery in 1999; a progressive design studio based in London working solely for the music industry. Over a 3-year period he produced a range of unique music packaging that crossed boundaries between 2D and 3D media. Clients include R02, Universal Music, EMI and Azuli Records.
On January 3, 2006 Jonathan founded 'The Northern Block' with the goal to design & develop new and original typefaces. The foundry has soon established a reputation for producing contemporary typefaces with a high technical value that work in the commercial market place.

Nuber - Font Family
A linear geometric sans serif influenced by neo-grotesques and the early Swiss type foundries. Smooth, even letter shapes are carefully drafted from a grid to produce a uniformed, low contrast typeface with a high degree of readability. Details include 540 characters with alternative uppercase R, alternative lowercase a, e and g, 5 variations of numerals, manually edited kerning and opentype features.

Lintel - Typeface
A modern san serif typeface with a pure clean line form. The idea has been to design a font with a proportioned and balanced structure that is applicable to a wide variety of uses. Details include 6 weights with italics, a full character set, manually edited kerning and Euro symbol.

Based on constructive feedback from customers and social media networks the Lintel font has been updated in collaboration with font technician Aleksandr Sukiasov.

Corbert Regular - FREE FONT
A geometric sans serif typeface influenced by Bauhaus and the early modernist era. Precise circles are optically adjusted to create a clear, natural typeface with great legibility. Details include 540 characters with alternative lowercase a, e and g, 5 variations of numerals, manually edited kerning and Opentype features.
